Pav Bhaji recipe: Delhi street food cooked at home

Hello all!

I’m here with a delicious dish of the Delhi Streets!!

And guess what…. I just made an easier recipe which even the newbies to cooking can try and woe their friends and family!

Since my nephew loves Pav Bhaji and he is staying with us… thought of making it for him😋

Pav Bhaji is one of the most popular dishes of Delhi so it’s a favourite of most people and is quite easy to cook too…not too much of a task…though its a little high on calories but it’s okay at times right?😛

Here is the recipe for the Bhaji:

• 2 tbsp Pav Bhaji masala.
• 1/4 tbsp Haldi/turmeric.
• 1/4 tbsp red chilli powder.
• 1/2 cup chopped carrots.
• 1/2 cup chopped beans.
• 1 chopped capsicum.
• 1 cauliflower finely chopped.
• 2 Potatoes finely chopped.
• 1 cup Green peas.
• 6 Tomatoes churned in the mixer to make puree.
• 4 Onions finely chopped.
• 6- 8 cloves of garlic chopped.
• 1 inch Ginger.
• 1 tbsp Sabut jeera/whole cumin seeds.
• 2 spoon oil.

•Boil all the veggies given above/ according to taste/season in a cooker…let them boil after giving 5-6 whistles…keep them aside.
•Take a pan and heat butter/ghee/oil in it. (Butter tastes the best!!)
•Crackle cumin seeds in the pan.
•Put chopped garlic, onions and ginger…let them turn golden brown.
•Add tomato puree.
•Add Pav bhaji masala, haldi/turmeric and red chilli powder.
•Fry until oil separates.
•Put all the earlier boiled veggies into the pan now.
•Let it sauté until it mixes well with the tomato puree.
•Cover the pan and let it cook for 2-3 mins.
•The bhaji is ready… garnish with green Coriander and boiled green peas.

*The bhaji is served with pav/bun/bread which is toasted in butter*
